Octopus Helps Engineers Develop Color-Changing Camouflage Fabric Technology

Octopus color changing camouflage inspires engineers to create navy wear
There is something special about Octopodes and cuttlefish which have an uncanny ability to camouflage themselves from danger. When under threat or in retreat, they disguise themselves by producing colors and patterns on their skin which match the surrounding background, allowing them to all but disappear to the naked eye.
