  1. My favorite is when she said that she does not consider herself a poor girl that made good, but a girl that had to make good for herself. Oprah’s bigger story is her determination, faith, perseverance. I never thought of it as self reliance, as well. She has always been my role model.     Very interesting and very true especially the part about being willing to WORK. So many people these days want easy money or to win a lottery or something so that they don’t have to put any effort into becoming financially successful. They will end their lives still with the poor me attitude that no one came along and waved a magic wand over their head to make life be what they wanted.
