Not My Best Moment: Day 28


If there were ever a reward for people who somehow seem to embarrass themselves on an ongoing basis, I would certainly be in the running to receive it. I kept up that tradition with flying colors today.

I usually take showers a bit late. My normal routine is to get up in the morning and work a few hours on the computer cleaning stuff up from the night before and placing on new content. Once I have accomplished all the basics that need to be done, I can officially start my day and take a shower. This means I usually jump in somewhere around 9:00 am – 10:00 am most mornings.

    Funny story. I’ve reading your posts for a while now and I wanted to ask you how to you get all those house sitting jobs? I live in Los Angeles County and would love to get more homes to sit.

    All mine come through recommendation now. In fact, I end up turning a lot down during the busy vacation times because I can only be in one place. After this recent one I have gotten 2 new jobs for this year with possibly another one due to word of mouth because she was so pleased.

    I tend to do a bit more than most house sitters I know and even doing that little extra seems to make a huge impression. I would mention it to everyone you know (especially friends with pets) because there is a lot of demand — most people would much rather leave their pet at home than board it at a kennel.

    At least it was in good faith to go check on the dogs, you were not lounging naked on the coach or something. Do you have a national park pass? I think the year pass is $80, very good value for so much entertainment.

    Yes, it actually saves me well over $1000 a year with all the parks I go to.

    You are a great advert for being able to live life away from the routine of a daily job. It shows people that it can be done.
