I absolutely agree Trish. I see nothing in this list that is not compatible with leading a decent life.

Maybe some people may think about the damage they have done in this world by doing what they interpret as the Christian God's work on this earth. Perhaps they should think abut that before they get to the end!

I often get asked about "what if I am wrong?" which is basically Pascal's Wager. My response is the Atheist's Wager:

"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."

Unfortunately, there are 1000s of gods all competing with one another as to which one is correct. What if the one you have chosen is wrong? ;)

I respect your views, but what if you are wrong? Lying in a horizontal position can lead to a lot of soul searching, hence the point of Mr. Strains article. Best to do the soul searching/fence mending while you still can; whatever that soul searching consists of in your world.

Some of these seem like reasonable regrets, but some seem rather trivial. I would have guessed that not spending enough time doing Gods work on earth would be high on peoples thoughts at the time of their last weeks. If it isn't, it should be.

Interesting list. I don't want to come to the end of my life with many regrets. Relationships with family and friends are the ones I value most and hope I don't screw up!
