We just did a cheap remodel to our home that has a kitchen from the 70s. We took out the wall between our kitchen and living room. Painted both rooms with new paint. Changed the 70s style light in the dining area with a more modern looking one. And the biggest change was painting the dark brown cabinets in the kitchen white. Looks like a brand new kitchen besides some appliances we will switch when we save up the extra money. Probably cost us less than $500 total and a kitchen remodel was going to cost us over $10,000. I am happy with what we did and it feels good to do the work yourself as well.
