I,also, do a pre-stash and think. While I’m at the store, before I hit the check out, I stop and think about each item. Do I really need this? Can I get it cheaper somewhere else? Do I have something already that I can use to fill this need? This has saved me both time and money.

Everyone needs to find an approach that works for them, but I’m with Carol@inthetrenches. If I truly want something then I’ll be willing to go back and get it next week. If not, the interest will fade once the item is out of sight. Ah the mental games we play with ourselves

Interesting strategy. I have done it at times, just not by intent. What works better for me is just pass up the impulse buying. I know when I leave the house what I want to buy and then limit myself to that purchase. If I see something while shopping I make myself go home and go back and get it. Yes, that does pose a risk sometimes that it will not be there but then I just keep my money.

Good idea! I always save receipts and NEVER open anything or take the tags off until I’m ready to use/wear it. If I change my mind I can always return it – and I frequently do!
