Things like having your IRA all on line can save the yearly fees, year after year. Having things like your Medicare supplement premiums deducted monthly from your checking account can give you savings month after month and plus the savings of no postage. Paying bills on line saves postage year after year. I love finding things that give automatic savings once you are signed up for them, you never have to think of them again (for items that there is no other option). Using store reward cards can save a bundle!

I have to admit that I got lazy about my personal phone bill -- landline, unlimited long distance, DSL. When I finally took half a day and checked things out, I ended up saving 50% !!

Last year I decided that I wanted to get a little more up to date on what's happening in the science world (I originally started out in chemical physics) and decided to subscribe to some science mags. The credit card I use builds what I tend to think of as funny money, so I checked there first. I was able to get subscriptions to four science magazines for less than $40, overall a 75% plus savings.
