AARP just built a more robust merchandise discount program with a company called Next Jump. They also run my employers discount site(have thousands of discounts like what David described)…I found the employee programs have highest savings

Group discounts are great!!

I get them for the various sports teams i play on so i always save money.

Thank you for the great tip!! A friend was looking for health insurance and I (after reading your article) suggested she check with the university she attended for group insurance rates. That was the solution she needed. Thanks again.

I’m not much of a joiner, but I have found some things to be really handy, like AARP and AAA… except for their insurance! LOL I also signed up for a hotel thing where for every so many nights’ stays you get a free night. Didn’t cost me anything and, with living in the country, there are a lot of things that I like to go to that kind of “demand” an overnight stay.

Hmmm. Need to check out what my Mastercard has to offer. I tend to forget about that one! LOL

I’m planning a long roadtrip this spring and had already made a note to check on discounts, etc. before I took the trip. I’m also intending to get new patio furniture this summer and will be checking for that also. In this day and age every dollar counts!

Our city also ran a buy local program last year that involved some discounts. Think I’ll check to see whether or not they’re running anything similar this year.

This is an area that I have become particularly appreciative of. I just became a member of AARP and found out about the numerous discounts on just about everything (not just the early bird special or extra bingo cards). I now have special buying power when it comes to insurance (which I just took advantage of) and other important necessities.
