Another great thing is vinegar! You know how lime and stuff can clog your showerhead? Well, put some white vinegar in a baggie, put the baggie over your showerhead so that it's soaking it and hold in place with a rubberband overnight. When you take it off in the morning, you'll see tiny specs of "sand" in the vinegar and your shower will flow freely! It's also great for getting hardwater stains off fixtures and a great way to keep pipes clean.

When the bottle of stuff to clean my ceramic top stove didn't get the gunk off, I switched to baking soda. It works and no scratches and a whole lot cheaper and easier to come by than the bottle of 'USE ONLY THIS STUFF' that came with the stove. You may not want to try this unless your stove is out of warranty and as using something other than the recommended product might void the warranty, but that baking soda works.

Baking soda also works for those delightful jello or kool-aid stains on the counter.

I can't say enough about what a cup in your laundry will do for the freshness factor. I keep boxes of the stuff around. Between this and castille soap, they are the ultimate all around must haves in the house.

Baking soda is a good substitute for toothpaste if you run out, or just to use once a week to get the plaque off your teeth. Growing up my mother would line up all eight of us kids and brush each of our teeth with baking soda. To this day, all of us have beautiful smiles and teeth.
