I just bought a CNG vehicle. The cost per GGE (gasoline gallon equivelant) is 90¢ in my state and the price is set in Nov. for 1 year at a time. Plus, the car gets 40 MPG. So, I get over 3.4 gallons of natural gas for the price of one gallon of gasoline at 3.09/gal. This means I can drive 137 miles for the price of 1 gallon of unleaded petro. THis is equivalent to saying that I get 137 MPG. Plus, my car is rated the cleanest on the planet. I save more on gas than the monthly payment so i am getting paid to drive a brand new car. I think everyone should look into CNG/NGV/AFV. Cheers!

While I agree with ben about the cost of everything being tied to fuel costs, I applaud your determination to get the most value out of your situation. There are ways to max your transportation dollar, and y'all are leading the way. Be sure to check the air in the tires, change oil at the proper times, etc., but driving a car that costs you basically nothing except gas and insurance is a big plus!

The problem is that you forget that gas prices don't only hurt you budget for buying gas for your car. As they increase, they raise the price of all the food you buy since it must be transported. It raises the cost of airline tickets. It affects so much more than just the price of gas that goes into your car.
