I stumbled across this extremely well built Hybrid vs Standard car calculator that allows you to compare the lifetime cost of a hybrid vehicle to a conventional vehicle you may want to buy. With so much information out there saying that hybrids don’t save you money due to higher costs, you can put in two options side by side and see exactly how they will play out.
The one weakness with the calculator is the lack of standard model cars currently listed. The calculator only lists standard cards by Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Jeep and Pontiac. I assume that more cars will be added as time passes and it will become a comprehensive calculator on this subject. Even with this weakness, it’s still well worth a visit to see how some of the cars compare.
