Mt. Douglas – Money Photo Day 10

Mt Douglas, Victoria Canada

I received an email from Luke from Travel Finances saying that it would be fun to meet up since I was visiting my sister in Victoria and that is where he lives. Usually when I meet others, we would go out to lunch or grab a few beers to talk. While this was one of the options placed out there, the timing didn’t work out well and he therefore suggested we go on a short hike at Mt. Douglas.

It was a great way to meet – get away from the computer and outside in the fresh air (something all bloggers need to do more of), get in some light exercise and see some beautiful scenery. It also gave me a great opportunity to see the natural beauty of the area that I would have missed if he had not invited me to meet. And all this without paying a cent. It goes to show that when you break out of the normal routine that you can find a variety of options that can be just as good (or in this case, better) that don’t have to cost anything (not to take anything away from drinking beer ;) )

I was also fortunate to meet his beautiful wife, Erin, who joined us (and must have been bored by our personal finance and website creating ramblings) and we had a wonderful time. Since I know I will be traveling up here in the future, I always have so much fun placing a face to the people I talk with over the Internet and wish I had a chance to meet more of the people I know through this blog and my sites.

Glad you’re having a good time! BTW, I’m really enjoying the “money photo days”. You have a very creative way of looking at things and your articles & photos always help me to view my own world a bit differently.

It’s too bad I didn’t know you were coming sooner. I live in Victoria too!

Sorry to have missed you…I will definitely be heading back that way to visit in the future and hopefully we can meet up then.
