Set it up, forget about it. Get some links, sell a couple of products, come back to the site in a couple of months.

Google seems to like sites that grow slowly over time – there is no point rushing these things! I also enjoyed ebay, but it can become a hassle. I am so happy I found internet publishing, as I am hoping to start working/traveling full time next year.
