compulsive shopping disorder - interventionI got a call from a friend that I had to watch a show on the A&E network called “Intervention.” If you aren’t familiar with this show (which I wasn’t until the call), the show follows people who have addictive and destructive habits and then have the families confront the person (intervene) to try and get them to get help. So what does this have to do with money and personal finances?

    Program or not, people need to find a way to be accountable for their own actions. Filing BK twice and adding another $110,000 is unacceptable. They need to face their financial picture and get over their demons.

    I have to agree. Most people can have problems called “diseases”, but unless they admit its a problem and try to change themselves, no amount of intervention is going to help. And calling it a disease isn’t helping either.
