No question about it, being in a hurry costs money. However, such money isn't necessarily a "cost" inasmuch as an "investment" if spent wisely. For example, if spending more time on a project that makes me money forces me to buy some fast food because I don't have time to cook, that would be a wise investment of money. Cooking for yourself is great defense, but having someone else cook so that you can make more money is great offense.

Most people don't "invest" hurridly spent money. They spend such money because they wasted their time (or allowed someone else to waste their time). Put differently, they squandered time and therefore had to squander money.

I could not agree more. Up untill now, i felt this way about expenses: never saw it in the light of leaving the machine on. Or time.

DH likes to go on impromptu picnics. We spent $10.00 at McDonald's despite my protests... We went to a park 10 miles away and ate there. Of course the day was lovely.
I cooked enough for three days and two nights on a recent trip to a national forest. Our total expenditure on food was $12.00! I packed our own snacks, (tonnes of berries and cherries) and bottled water.
But the unplanned trip cost us so much..
