Getting Paid To Receive Letters

Back in November 2005, I wrote a post about a company that supposedly would pay you money to receive letters. I applied and never heard a thing back from them until today when I received the following email:

Hello Mr. Strain!

Thank you very much for your registration at We are happy about your interest in our international postal surveys.

As from August 2006 we are looking for reliable panellists acting as RECEIVER OF TEST MAIL.

Your survey task:

– You receive on average 20 to 30 test letters per month send to your private or business address
– You enter all dates of receipt of your test mail on our website

In this survey you would belong to a selected pool of world-wide panellists. You will receive test letters of different size and format from various countries. During this survey, your test letters are produced 4 weeks in advance. To avoid irregularities it is therefore indispensable that you inform us about any address changes, absences or other relevant occurrences in a timely manner.

Ideally you are available for the next 6 months. Of course you can end up your participation at any time but for the continuity of the survey a longer participation would be desired. During your holidays of course we will stop the dispatch of your test item.

For your activity you will receive a monthly Amazon gift voucher (, worth JPY 2500, or payment on a registered account at PayPal ( or Moneybookers ( Alternatively, if you wish we can donate your award (or parts of it) – on your behalf – to the international humanitarian medical aid agency “Doctors without borders” (

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards
Sandra Wulschlaeger

I’m a bit disappointed because on their original page they said they were paying 3000 yen and not the 2500 yen (approx. $30 and $25) that they offered in the email, but this one isn’t really about the money. Normally I would not participate is something like this as the time spent would likely not be worth the amount paid, but this one has me a bit curious. It’s kind of cool that someone would pay you for simply receiving a package in the mail. It has many of the signs of a total scam – easy, no effort and seems to good to be true, but it does lack the “huge amounts of money” element. So I have to see if it is really true or not ๐Ÿ˜‰

I wonder where the packages are going to be coming from and how this whole system will work, so I’m going to go ahead and see what happens and report back on how it turns out…

I just received another email saying that I have been accepted into the program:

Thank you very much for your registration! We are happy about your assistance and have included you in our receiver panel.

Your test mail address has been registered

Please inform us immediately should these data be incorrect or incomplete. Possible changes can be considered until 12 July. Thank you!

We would like to ask you to check your incoming emails regularly for messages from us. To avoid irregularities in the postal measurement it is indispensable that you inform us about any absences e.g. holidays or other relevant occurrences in a timely manner.

We will contact you again in time for the start of the survey at the end of July. We will then provide you with your personal user log-in for our website.

Should you have any questions in the meantime, please simply send us an email. We are happy to assist you :-)!

Kind regards,
Your Quotas Team

Sounds like I’ll have more news on this later in July. For others interested in seeing if this is real or not, the sign-up form is here.

Have they required any money from you to mail the “test mail”. If it turns out to be a new kind of scam, will have heard about it first, here. Hope it isn’t.

Nope, no test mail requirement – at least thus far.

I am in the USA and there are a couple programs similar to the “Receiver of Test Mail” you wrote about. I personally work for one called Hausernet which pays me $0.25 per mail piece. I receive the mail and go onto their website and put in the information and the condition it was in when I received it. They mail me a check approximately every 4 months once I accumulate $10. I hope this one works out as well for you! ๐Ÿ™‚

    How do you join Hausernet?

This sounds alot like where you read emails and get points. I have been a member with them for about five years now and I cash in my points at Christmas time for gifts. They have a long list as to how you can cash in your points. I have been able to get some really nice gifts. I think I will give this a try also.

You can go here to check to see if they already have someone in your zipcode:

I have been participating in the Hauser Decoy Mail for several years. I did not get paid for the first few times, but am now receiving regular checks quarterly. They may not be large, but are worth the time invested.

I’m glad someone is getting paid with Hauser. I’ve worked for them since Sept. 2008 and have yet to be paid. I have to hound them to even respond to an email. I understand that times are tough but you had better figure out a way to pay the people who do the actual work.

I have been a member of Hauser since 2006. Their pay procedures are inconsistent at best. However, they eventually do pay (especially if you bug them a bit). The longer you are with them, the more mail you get, if you are timely and accurate in your reporting. They have always responded to my email queries. My best year with them so far earned me over $1100. So far this year, I have received one check (after a complaining email), but they are still behind in payments. The payment that was promised for February (to catch up) has yet to appear.

    World Mail Panel are legit.
I have been with them now on the parcel survey for almost a year earning รขโ€šยฌ20 per month. Handy at Christmas.
