I've also read that it's always less expensive wherever you buy your produce to buy what is in season. If it's not in season, it's going to cost you more wherever you buy it. Right now that means spinach, kale, lettuce, snap peas and new potatoes. Although some items like fresh basil are available, it's greenhouse grown and expensive.
