The $165 Hello Kitty Plush

Vivitix Hello Kitty Plush - $165I received a letter from a reader regarding my post about my wife’s hobby / business saying that he didn’t believe that a Hello Kitty plush (stuffed doll) would sell for more than $150. He made it specific that it couldn’t be a group of Hello Kitties, but a single plush.

…I found your post funny and entertaining, but it is clear that those high priced Hello Kitty’s were placed in the store for show. Anyone can list any item for any price, but that doesn’t mean it will sell. In the end, it is sales that count. When you can show me a Hello Kitty that sells for over $150 (not a group or set) then I’ll believe it. All your links went to plush that were less than $100…

I told him to wait and I would come up with one – so without further ado, here you are Troy – the $165 Hello Kitty Vivitix Pink Tulip Wedding Plush – never under-estimate the craziness of Hello Kitty collectors! That’s what got me into this mess in the first place 😉

  1. Aww, how adorable! Is it $165 adorable? Maybe not to me, but one man’s blah is another man’s wheee! (On a side note, I can’t help but be reminded of my wife on our wedding day when I look at that plush. Maybe it’s the eyes. Kinda scary.)

  2. All the Hello Kitty posts have made me wonder. I have a vintage (over 20 years old probably) HK picnic basket. Maybe I’ll have to put it on e-bay.

  3. I have that plush, was googling to find what I might sell it for, though it’s so gorgeous I don’t know that I want to. It’s not the priciest HK plush I have, either. Definitely never underestimate the spending habits of the HK crazed.
