Tag Trades

I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with del.icio.us, but they are a online bookmark site that was recently acquired by Yahoo. For anyone who uses more than one computer, it’s a convenient service since it allows you can access all your bookmarks in one place – even if you happen to be using a computer you don’t normally use.

The reason that Yahoo purchased this company is that it believes that humans can do a better job of tagging important sites than computer algorithms and have hinted that they will be using this “human tagging” system in their search engine results in the future. While this is most likely some time off, it seems that at least for that search engine, human tagging will play an important roll in where you rank just like links to your site now helps your ranking.

I’m assuming that if you are reading this post at the moment, you’re doing so because you find the information here useful and if that is the case, I would certainly appreciate you tagging this site for me (as well as my main site savingadvice.com. If you run a website or blog and would like me to tag it, please email me and I’ll be more than happy to return the favor.

While I don’t think it will be an issue since I’m still pretty small here and I’m not getting frequented by a lot of spammers, I won’t tag anything that I don’t think is worth tagging (scams, sites with little information, etc).
