I think I’ve been driving Nate nuts lately – trying to come up with good themes for the satellite sites means that we have to get creative to come up with names that will work and are still available. Of course this gets me wandering in all kinds of directions off the main path with ideas that are out in left field. A lot of them are just ideas I think would be fun, but I’m sure that most people would view as stupid.
One of my long term goals is to travel to 100 different countries. I still have quite a ways to go (only at 37 at the moment) but as we were brainstorming ideas I thought it would be fun while I’m trying to get to 100 different countries, to have people from 100 different countries come to me. While that may be unrealistic in real terms, it’s certainly possible through the Internet.
If I had any programming skills at all, I would put together a cool world map, build a site and track all kinds of stuff I wanted to. Of course, when I come up with ideas like this, Nate just shakes his head (I wonder what is going to happen when we are both working full time on the site…I’ll probably drive him absolutely crazy then 😉 ) Anyway, since I have no programming skills at all, I have to settle for doing it the easy way – setting up a free site. So with that I set up 100 Different Countries.
As you can see, I’m easily entertained. I don’t think that this will qualify as one of our satellite sites, but I’ll be interested to see if I can get people from 100 different countries to actually visit the site. If I can it would be great fun…if not, nothing lost except an hour putting it together.
